Key volunteers
  1. Bosco Segawa
    Bosco is our Charity Director in Uganda, an ex street child, founding member and Director of the M-LISADA organisation and orphanage. He also plays trumpet in the M-LISADA brass band. Bosco and Jim Trott have been working closely together since 2009 to manage and provide the instrumental music lesson at the Good Shepherd Home and Bethlehem Orphanage, supported by Brass for Africa. Among many other things Bosco is also the inspiration and instigator of the Mummy Foundation.
  2. Rebecca Richards
    Rebecca is our Country Manager and makes everything happen for the charity in Africa! Rebecca has worked on and off in Africa since 2007. Her experience has taken her from community-led projects in Ghana and Uganda, to research deployments in post-Qaddafi Libya. Most recently, Rebecca worked for Educate!, an entrepreneurship program in Uganda. Rebecca holds a B.A. in International Relations and Global Affairs and French from Eckerd College, and a Master of Arts in International Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University. Rebecca has been involved in theatre, singing and the arts her whole life and is thrilled to be a part of a team that provides disadvantaged young people with brass music education
  3. Momoh Kemokai
    Momoh Kemokai is our Senior Teacher in Liberia. Kemokai is a native Liberian and a serving member of Liberia's armed forces. He is a Staff Sergeant of the Armed Forces Liberia Band in which he plays Saxophone. Kemokai holds a senior position in the band with responsibilities for planning and training. Kemokai has taken on the role of supervisor and senior teacher for the Brass for Africa Music projects in Liberia, he is a graduate of the University of Education Winneba in Ghana where he studied and obtained a certificate in Music Enrichment and he continues his studies at college where he is working towards a BSc degree in Electronic Engineering. Kemokai is an active member of his church playing bass guitar in the band and training the choir.
