Watch award-winning documentary TOPOWA! Never Give Up

TOPOWA! is a story of resilience and hope, carried along by a joyous celebration of music and life. At the heart of this film: the power of music to transform lives. This award-winning documentary (Raindance Film Festival 2020) portrays the inspirational journey of twelve young musicians from Brass for Africa.

Many grew up as street-children in some of Uganda’s toughest informal settlements. The film follows them from their home in Kampala to some of the world’s biggest stages, where they perform with jazz-legend Wynton Marsalis.

In Uganda, the word topowa means never give up. Directed by Inigo Gilmore & Philip Sansom, produced by PHIX Films. ‘Best Documentary’ winner at Raindance Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival and Cleveland Film Festival.
